It is thought that being a mom starts the moment you give birth to your first child and hold them in your arms. It’s a magical moment where suddenly the world changes and nothing matters to you but the child you are holding, and not hell nor high water will ever change that.
That is just the tip of the iceberg and it doesn’t start there. It starts the moment that we care for someone else as if they were our child. We can’t help but want to take care of them, love them no matter what, see the potential in them and will do anything in our power to see that potential grow into something amazing.
It isn’t gender, age, or relationship specific. It’s just love. Pure, unconditional, nurturing, and self-less love. If you feel this way about anyone else in your life, I celebrate you today. Happy Mother’s Day!
